Minerscanary.org is made possible through the generous support of the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation and the Ford Foundation. The mission of the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation is “to support efforts that promote a just, equitable and sustainable society.” The Foundation accomplishes that mission through programming that helps to build strong communities, encourages citizen participation, improves the environment, and supports families working their way out of poverty.
         Similarly, among the goals of the Ford Foundation are to:

                Ø   Reduce poverty and injustice
                Ø   Promote international cooperation and
                Ø   Advance human achievement

        Through myriad grant and loan programs, the Ford Foundation encourages  collaboration among nonprofit,  government and business sectors.
