Minerscanary.org is a collaborative online venture that reflects the interests, concerns and life’s work of Lani Guinier, Susan Sturm and Gerald Torres – scholars and legal experts who are committed to igniting broad constituencies through public discourse, scholarly writing, and the exchange of ideas. Our desire is to reach individuals who are interested in issues of equity and justice and who seek a radical transformation of society through collaboration and direct action. Through this web site, we want to provide a forum for the exchange of provocative ideas that challenge and seek to transform the dysfunctions of our society to benefit us all, and to provide a global connection to like-minded individuals across class, gender, age and race lines.
With an emphasis on innovative thinking and approaches, content for minerscanary.org
will be drawn from diverse sources. We will turn to colleagues and organizations
engaged in related work, articles, news items, public policy reports and other
publications that focus on our areas of interest, including: And, of course, we will share our own work in these areas, as well. We see minerscanary.org as a new paradigm for linking racial and gender justice to the task of building more progressive and democratic institutions. The site’s interactivity and links to others engaged in related work will enable visitors to expand their frame of reference, share their work and stories and to take part in ongoing conversations with individuals of various perspectives. We see minerscanary.org as a gathering place, a source of inspiration, a catalyst for change. |
